Finally a weekend to explore the area. It was so nice having visitors and to break-up the quietness a bit.

Ate lots of fish which always makes me happy. Saturday we took off to Montauk which is the tip of L.I. We had beautiful views and saw the oldest working lighthouse in the country.

Sunday was spent in the town of Sag Harbor which is my new favorite local spot. It was the annual festival which included whale boat racing and a chowder cook-off. The chowderfest was a delicious, creamy, hot mess and I’d love to do it Brooklyn-style at some point. The rest of the day was spent enjoying this beautiful home, sitting outside reading and taking naps. The perfect Sunday really. I hate good-byes.

Work is getting more and more intense everyday. It’s been a long time since I’ve really cared about my day job and had so many responsibilities. The work day flies by even when I stay late but It’s really neat to be working towards one big magical weekend. It’s so interesting being thrusted in a whole new group of people. All so different, big egos, kind people. The festival is like this big monster with 15 legs and that all have to figure out how to walk together. But it’s such a good learning experience and I’m lucky for that.

After work tonight I decided to explore the harbor behind us. Walking along the edge of the water I decided to keep walking until I was around the bend so I could see what was on the other side. Turns out the harbor opens up into a body of water so large my mouth dropped open when I saw it.

This area, the hamptons - it’s kind of a mystery. Everyday I take a random route and find something beautiful.
